North Wilkesboro Fire Department proudly protects 4100 people living in an area of 5.5 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area and we received an ISO rating of 4 in October of 2008. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status.

The department is a combination fire department. We consist of 26 firemen and 3 paid engineers on duty. Engineers work 24 on and 48 off. Of these 29 members 16 are certified as County First Responders or State Medical Responders. Our mission is to provide fire suppression, fire prevention, and fire inspections to the town's residents and businesses.
